Coffee Cup Recycling

Waste Expo Australia is proud to announce its partnership with Simply Cups in 2020.

Paper coffee cups typically have a thin plastic (polyethylene) liner which creates a liquid-proof barrier to contain the liquid contents of the cup. This liner has prevented the paper fibres from being recovered and results in millions of cups being sent to landfill every year in Australia rather than being recycled. To recycle coffee cups effectively, they need to be collected as a clean waste stream.

At Waste Expo Australia there will be designated collections tubes throughout the event which will be collected daily. Whilst visiting Waste Expo Australia, be sure to participate in this opportunity to help save millions of cups from going to landfill.

Recycle your plastic bottles

Waste Expo Australia is proud to announce our Café Sponsor - TOMRA Collection Solutions.

TOMRA is the world leader in the field of reverse vending, with over 82,000 installations across more than 60 markets. TOMRA Collection Solutions will be having their 'T-9' reverse vending machine in the café area where attendees can place their plastic bottles in to be recycled.

The T-9 machine is faster, cleaner and prepared for handling all types of beverage packaging to be recycled. While you're at Waste Expo Australia, make sure you place your plastic bottles in TOMRA Collection Solutions' T-9 reverse vending machine to do your part in diverting plastic waste from landfill for a sustainable future.
