2 Weeks to go to Waste Expo Australia

21 September 2018
Waste Expo Australia has announced that more than 80 leading suppliers and 55 key speakers will present at the country’s most comprehensive free-to-attend exhibition and conference for the waste management industry.

The two-day event in Melbourne this October will bring together specialists and suppliers in waste management, and feature a mix of product demonstrations, panel discussions, workshops and presentations from leading suppliers and experts from across the waste and recycling sector.

The exhibition has increased by 50 per cent this year to accommodate a larger showcase of the latest technologies and solutions in waste management and resource recovery. While the Waste Summit, Waste Evolution and Wastewater Summit conferences will feature more than 40 sessions focusing on five key themes; collections, waste to energy, resource recovery, landfill and transfer stations and wastewater.

The increased focus on waste management has led Waste Expo Australia to expect a record-breaking number of visitors to walk through the exhibition doors this year. Initial interest in the event has doubled compared to the same time last year, with over 80 local councils from Australia already registered to attend.

With bans on waste exports and local landfills rapidly reaching capacity, local councils are rethinking waste management strategies. In a panel discussion at Waste Expo Australia led by Daniel Fyfe, Australian Landfill Owner’s Association’s Divisional Landfill and Development Manager, industry experts will explore innovation and excellence in landfill management via advanced technologies and pioneering operations.

Visitors will also get exclusive access to newly-released technologies in recycling, vegetation management and road vehicles from leading industrial equipment suppliers. These include two new excavators from Petromech, a new compactor from Telford Smith, and a new range of electric waste and recycling trucks from Superior Pak and WM Waste Management Services.

Waste Expo Australia Exhibition Manager, Cory McCarrick said it is an exciting time for leading specialists and suppliers in waste management to collaborate, learn and discover the latest technologies, products and processes set to change waste management and resource recovery in Australia.

"With an increased focus on waste management by the Australian community, we are seeing further innovation entering the industry. Waste Expo Australia is a great opportunity for experts to stay ahead of the game and learn about the new technologies set to push the industry to new heights,” Mr McCarrick said.

Other industry heavyweights that are supporting the event include Australia and New Zealand Recycling Platform, The Australian Organics Recycling Association, BINGO, Garwood International, Waste Inititatives, Bost Group, Cleanaway Waste Management, NWRIC, Solo Resource Recovery, Superior Pak and The Victorian Waste Management Association. This industry support illustrates the importance of the event for the sector.

Held in partnership with the Clean Energy Council, Waste Expo Australia is co-located with All-Energy Australia to form the nation’s most significant showcase for the waste, recycling, renewable energy and energy efficiency industries.

Waste Expo Australia will run from Wednesday 3 to Thursday 4 October 2018 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. To register for the free to attend exhibition, visit www.wasteexpoaustralia.com.au.
